THE COURAGE TO RENEW OUR LOVE FOR CHRIST
The Gospel stories of encounters with the risen Lord throw light on where Christians continue to meet the Lord. Today’s story emphasises the Lord’s presence in the mission of the Church…. Henceforth you will be fishers of people. This mission begins in the word of the Lord which inspires human effort. We are to attract people to Christ by living the resurrected Life.
Notice during the catch, the nets are unbroken, expressing the unity of the flock of Christ. We must seek to live in peace and harmony, proclaiming the Risen Christ with love.
The role of Peter is given great focus. He is the one appointed to be the principal shepherd.
The mission is sustained by the eucharist. The meal on the shore uses the food which is the work of human hands. Our effort is needed to make Christ known as risen and alive. The Lord is present in the mission of the Church. Let us pray for the Church and ourselves today.
Wishing all Parishioners & Friends Happy and Blessed Sunday! – Fr Francis, MSP
