Jesus is King and Jesus’ kingdom is established from the very beginning of creation and through the Davidic kingship, His reign has no end. His reign is not one of power but of mercy, not one of self-service but of self-giving, not one of material wealth but of eternal salvation. His throne is the cross and He reigns in the Hearts of people. Through His suffering and death, He brings life to all who are open to receive it. He offers paradise to all those who come to Him, accept His reign, and remain faithful to the will of His Father. He bids us come into His kingdom; into the eternal life He has won for all. The present world will pass away, but God’s Kingdom where Christ is King will remain forever. Through Christ we become citizens of everlasting Kingdom. Let us pray for the grace to imitate Christ our King.
Can you say that you belong to the Kingdom of Christ? The scripture tells us that there are two kingdoms in this world which are opposed to one another – the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. Since Christ is the true Light of the world (John 8:12), His Kingdom of light and salvation is where we should belong and serve above all else. The anti-Christ offers false promises, lies, fake wealth & power.
