ADVENT OF JOY AND HOPE: COME LORD!
Advent confronts winter and wilderness. The church is experiencing a severe winter in few signs of growth or fruitfulness…. falling numbers…few vocations, etc. Wilderness was considered the abode of evil spirits … untamed, anti-life forces. The moral wilderness is facing us every day. The Good News is that the word of God came to John in the wilderness. May be its not a bad place to be. Advent restores hope. We wait in joyful hope for the coming of Jesus Christ into our Hearts and Homes.
The way out of the moral wilderness is in one word, Repent. Re-pensare means to think again. Who sets the agenda for our thinking? Do we think for ourselves? Do we let the moguls of consumerism plan our Christmas? Repent, think again, straighten out life and see how near God is. Prepare for an Advent celebration of Reconciliation, Joy and Hope of better things to come, (S. O’Flynn, Sunday Seeds).
Wishing all Parishioners & Friends Happy and Blessed Sunday! – Fr Francis, MSP
