The Third Sunday of Advent is Rejoice Sunday because we are half way to Christmas. We are invited to let God be our strength, our hope, our courage, our joy and our vindication. Our God comes to save us, to open our eyes to the truth, and our ears to the word spoken among us and to set us rejoicing in His presence. There is no place for mourning and sorrow. All must be patient, waiting in joyful hope and peace of heart for Christmas. We are the chosen ones, the royal and priestly people, set apart to sing the praises of our God. Rejoice in the Lord always!
Our God comes to us in Jesus Christ and Jesus is stronger than all things that could harm us. Hence, He comes bringing us peace, freedom, justice, forgiveness, mercy, favour and joy. Look around for the signs that show God is with us: healing, openness, conversion, freedom, peace, sharing, generosity, hospitality, solidarity, people dead in despair and misery are given hope, new life and the good news is proclaimed to the poor in our world.
Wishing all Parishioners & Friends Happy and Blessed Sunday! – Fr Francis, MSP
